Alex van der Merwe
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I believe this is a very special and incredible time in a woman's life. I am a midwife who is passionate about providing woman-centred care throughout your pregnancy, labour, birth, and postnatally that will allow you to feel empowered throughout your experience. I believe that birth is a normal, physiological process and aim to provide safe care that facilitates this process to occur without intervention when appropriate. I have worked as a core-midwife in a hospital setting so I am familiar with this environment but I also have a passion for providing care during home births and water-births. I work in collaboration with other health practitioners and will refer you to the appropriate services when required, in order to achieve a safe outcome for you and your baby. I work in a practice of midwives who share the same philosophy as me.
Alex is on maternity leave and will be returning to work in March 2025, she is available for clients due May 2025 onwards.
